HOWDY!

I'm a Computer Science student at Texas A&M with experience in the Texas Army National Guard, community outreach, and software field. I'm passionate about building innovative tools and systems in relation to both software and aerospace, and I'm driven by a desire to serve others through technology and leadership.

Summary of Before College

I grew up in Dallas Texas, and throughout my school life, I found a joy in math, science, and music. During senior year I had to come to the fact that I didn't have the funds for college even though I was working throughout high school and got accepted to A&M for the fall of 2021. As the view of me going to A&M in the fall diminished I heard about Texas Army National guard and made the decision to join.

Areas Of Interest

Software Engineering:

I chose to study computer science because it allows me the freedom to create solutions to real world problems. Growing up I always been the kind of person who thinks, “There's got to be a better way to do this.” In the past, I didn't have the skills and knowledge to bring those ideas to life, but now I'm finalling starting to learn the tools and technologies that make that possible. The ability to design, build, and improve systems is what excites me most about software engineering.

Aerospace:

When I started college, I was torn between aerospace and computer science. Aerospace has always fascinated me not only because of the complicated science and engineering behind flight, but because of the discipline, precision, and high-stakes problem-solving it requires. Growing up just 30 minutes from NASA's Johnson Space Center, I was inspired from an early age by the innovation and presitge of the space industry. While I ultimately chose computer science, my interest in aerospace remains strong, and I'm always exploring ways to combine both fields which led me to working at Raytheon.

Military:

Serving as a sergeant in the Texas Army National Guard has given me a firsthand look at the inner workings of the military and life outside schooling. It has strengthened my leadership, discipline, and teamwork, creating strong pillars for growth as a student and future professional. As my current contract approaches its end around the time I graduate, I'm reflecting on whether to continue my military service and what opportunities the future might hold for me. I'm especially interested in how technology intersects with defense, and I see potential for a future where I contribute to military innovation through software or technical leadership roles.
